Mar 21, 2012 - Khan saheb was close to God. It is said that while on a train journey, he hurriedly told his entire troupe to disembark at a small station. None could question him and all hurriedly disembarked. He next said to spread the durrie (rug) on the platform itself, and he started singing along with full accompaniment right there! Within a few minutes, he had left his earthly body and united with his beloved 'Piya" - God. He knew the end was near, and he wanted it to be in communion with God.
