Aug 29, 2011 - Nice presentation, congratulations! but I'm not so sure about this definition, you are saying that information is just meaning and not the actual media used to convey it, most of the time we uses the term information to mean both of these combined and it's very useful to be able to do so. But I agree information dose have to have some internal logic or structure aka meaning to make it information, but it also needs to be embodied in some form of symbol or else it can't be exchanged.

That's one of the gifts of language, it lets us talk of processes and functions as if they were objects in the world. Get your head round that and it will free your thinking up ten fold.
