May 24, 2012 - Because there is a certain comfort level people expect in life. You're asking the educators of a nation who earn relatively weak salaries to take a pay cut to fix budget issues that were caused by big business in the first place? Cute.

May 21, 2012 - it is not money that brought me into teaching...I love passing on knowledge..bills DO need to be paid.

May 18, 2012 - what argument.. no argument .llolololololol you make me laugh.. later kid happy being a bitter asshole

chrispollock Says:

May 17, 2012 - if teachers don't do it for money, why don't they all take a 50% pay cut in order to help alleviate the budget deficit. they won't, because they are in it for the money and benefits. if they weren't, they'd be proud to live on beans and rice in studio apartment if it meant teaching kids. so that argument fails.

May 17, 2012 - ij ust said that teachers don't do it for money!!!!!!!!!!!! I teach, i am very happy with my pay because my job rocks .. i love every minute of it ! keep your money .. i dont need it .. i have something way more precious + money + summer vacation .. woodi doo. plus my body is not wrecked .. kisses

chrispollock Says:

May 17, 2012 - a teacher does not generate the resources to justify a huge paycheck. therefore, they do not deserve huge paychecks on the level of professional athletes. it's called simple math. by your logic, a farmer should get paid the same as a CEO because farmers provide food even though the CEO generates more resources through his own actions.

singlece1000 Says:

May 17, 2012 - teachers dont do it for the money and btw teachers prepare students for life.. which i guess is worth no money ..right?

singlece1000 Says:

May 17, 2012 - student evaluations don't work - bad teachers dont care about them and good teachers care too much and most students use them as a chance to vent..

alaazahra Says:

May 9, 2012 - you can be their best friend and still teach well. that's the teachers job, and that is what you are getting evaluated on. Without the ability to send your information across you don't count for much of a teacher regardless of whether you are a hardass or not do you ?

katiesoh70 Says:

May 8, 2012 - If only all they wanted was to pass. I'm buried with complaints about B and C grades.

Skie2001 Says:

May 8, 2012 - Those of us who work in education find this video absolutely hilarious because it is SO TRUE.

qcotms Says:

May 7, 2012 - I am a professor and I can tell you that this video is EXACTLY they way it is.

chrispollock Says:

May 5, 2012 - everyone is paid for the value they offer. if teachers want to be paid as much as professional athletes, they need to provide the same value (professional athletes bring in a ton of money for the games they participate in, justifying their large paychecks).

Sephiroth1984 Says:

May 2, 2012 - Yeah, well, I'll tell you what's much more sad than this: lots of students who DO what they're teachers tell them clear through college and find out they're rewarded with nothing but a mountain of college debt. At least the teachers got paid for their work. I don't know how people expect students to be motivated anymore.

ProfVicki Says:

Apr 27, 2012 - I hear all of this stuff all the time from my students. So sad.
