]]> The Beatles- Help! "Help!" is a song by The Beatles that served as the title song for both the album Help! and the film Help!. It was also released as a single, and was #1 for three weeks in both the UK and USA. "Help!" was written primarily by John Lennon, but credited (as all Beatles song written by either person) to Lennon/McCartney. Paul McCartney reports that he had a hand in writing the song as well, being called in "to complete it" in a two-hour joint writing session on 4 April 1965 at Lennon's house in Weybridge. He later said that the title was "out of desperation". In 2004, "Help!" was ranked number 29 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.

Créditée Lennon/McCartney, Help! fut principalement écrite par John Lennon, mais Paul McCartney a raconté quil y avait apporté son concours, étant appelé en urgence pour la compléter durant une session de travail de deux heures dans la maison de John. L'histoire de Help! tient dans son point d'exclamation. C'est une « chanson de commande » : Le titre Help étant déjà pris, les Beatles songèrent à appeler leur deuxième film Eight Arms to Hold You - huit bras pour te tenir, en rapport avec une statue sacrée visible dès les premières images du long métrage -, ce qui aurait débouché sur une chanson éponyme. Mais ils eurent finalement l'idée d'ajouter cette ponctuation au bout des quatre lettres signifiant « au secours ». La chanson fut enregistrée dans les studios Abbey Road le 13 avril 1965, publiée sur 45 tours (avec I'm Down de Paul McCartney en face B) le 23 juillet, et sur l'album du même nom, en titre d'ouverture, le 6 août.
